Description

Most Ontario workplaces that regularly employ 20 or more workers require a Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC). A JHSC is composed of worker and employer representatives. Together, they should be mutually committed to improving health and safety conditions in the workplace. Committees identify potential health and safety issues and bring them to the employer’s attention and must be kept informed of health and safety developments in the workplace by the employer. As well, a designated worker member of the committee inspects the workplace at least once a month. JHSC Part Two, Workplace-Specific Hazard Training focuses on significant hazards in the workplace. Employers are required to select a minimum of six (6) hazards relevant to the workplace. JHSC Part 2 training covers RACE methodology (recognize, assess, control, and evaluate) on how to assess those hazards and ways to control and/or eliminate them. You must complete both JHSC Part 1 and JHSC Part 2 to receive JHSC Certification by the Chief Prevention Officer of Ontario. This course is 2-days in duration and is valid for 3 years.

**Cancellation Policy: Cancellations received less than 3 business days prior to a course start date will not be refunded or transferred. Langlois Safety Training & Consulting Services reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a training session.
